Buying Sports Card Collections

By appointment

I buy sports card collections with a primary focus on vintage material. If I like what I see, I will make an offer. All purchases are handled by appointment. There is no obligation to sell.

What I Buy

Vintage cards (primary focus)

My primary focus is vintage material.
• Baseball, football, basketball, hockey, and non-sports cards
• Material produced prior to 1980
• Singles, partial sets, full sets, and mixed collections
• Graded and non-graded cards
• Common cards are welcome, particularly pre-1975 material
For purposes of buying, vintage refers to material produced prior to 1980.

Modern cards & sealed product (limited)

I also buy modern cards and unopened boxes on a limited basis.

Interest is generally restricted to widely recognized star players with established collector demand, higher-end modern singles with consistent resale history, and sealed boxes or cases with strong, proven demand.

Large collections centered on lesser-known or niche players are typically outside my buying focus.

How offers are determined

I buy collections based on the overall material presented. Offers reflect factors such as era, condition, player demand, and marketability, and are made as a single figure rather than itemized pricing.

I’m happy to answer questions about an offer before you decide.

What I do not buy

To avoid misunderstandings, I generally do not purchase overproduced, low-demand material or damaged cards.

Modern non-sports cards are not a primary focus. In limited cases, graded examples may be considered.

If material falls outside my buying scope, I will say so directly.

Taking complete collections

If you require that your entire collection be purchased, I can accommodate that. Offers are driven by the marketable portion of the collection.

Buying vs. consignment

Buying collections outright is my primary focus.

In certain situations, consignment may be appropriate for specific items. In some cases, buying and consignment may be used together. Portions of a collection may be purchased outright, while select items are handled separately when appropriate.

Next step

If you have a collection you’d like reviewed, you can call me directly or reach out using the contact form.

You don’t need to prepare anything formal. If you’d like, you can include the general era of the cards (for example, 1950s–1960s, 1970s, or post-1980), a brief description, and a few clear photos if available.

Photos are optional. One wide shot showing the scope of the collection and a few closer images of representative cards are usually enough.

If you contact me online, please let me know how you prefer to connect — text, email, or phone. A phone call is often the quickest way to move things along.

Frequently asked questions

Do you buy entire collections?

Yes. If everything needs to be handled at once, I can accommodate that. Offers are based on the marketable portion of the collection.

Do you buy common cards?

Yes. Common cards are welcome, particularly vintage material produced before 1975.

Do you buy modern cards?

In limited cases. Modern purchases are selective and generally focused on widely recognized players or sealed product with established demand.

What is the difference between a consultation and an offer?

An offer is made when I review a collection with the intention of purchasing it, and there is no charge for that process.
A consultation is appropriate when evaluation, guidance, or detailed discussion is requested before deciding how to proceed. Consultations are billed separately and are not required to receive an offer.
