Sports Card Consultation
Clear Guidance Before You Make Any Decisions
If you’re unsure where to begin with your sports card collection, a consultation is often the smartest first step.
Many clients come to me after inheriting a collection, returning to the hobby after years away, or realizing that today’s sports card market feels very different than it once did. Others simply want an experienced, honest opinion before spending money on grading or selling.
This consultation is designed to give you clarity, direction, and confidence before you make any decisions.
What a Consultation Is - and Isn’t
During the consultation, I work solely in your best interest.
There is no pressure to consign, sell, or submit cards for grading. My role is to help you understand what you have, what matters, and what your options are — even if the best decision is to do nothing at all.
This is not a sales pitch.
It is professional guidance based on experience.
What We Typically Cover
Every collection is different, but consultations commonly include:
-
Identifying which cards have real market value — and which do not
-
Setting realistic expectations (not internet hype or outdated price guides)
-
Determining which cards may be worth grading and which are not
-
Discussing timing considerations: sell now vs. hold
-
Reviewing the pros and cons of selling, consigning, or keeping your cards
-
Understanding the PSA grading process and whether it fits your goals
The goal is to help you avoid costly mistakes and make informed decisions.
Why a Consultation Is a Good Value
The consultation fee is often recovered many times over by:
-
Avoiding unnecessary grading fees
-
Preventing underpricing or misjudging key cards
-
Identifying overlooked items with real value
-
Choosing the right strategy before committing time or money
Most clients find that a single clear conversation saves them far more than it costs.
Consultation Fee
$75 flat consultation fee
This is not an ongoing hourly charge.
It covers a focused, professional evaluation of your collection and next steps.
If you only need quick guidance on one or two cards, I’m happy to help at no charge.
If your cards are not truly collectible or don’t justify grading or selling costs, I will tell you honestly — and you will not be charged.
Experience You Can Trust
I’ve been involved in the sports card hobby for over 36 years and am an authorized PSA dealer — the only one in Sarasota.
My reputation is built on honest assessments, clear communication, and long-term relationships, not pressure or inflated promises.
What Comes Next
Many consultations naturally lead into consignment or a direct purchase, once we determine the best path forward. If that makes sense in your case, I’ll explain those options clearly and let you decide.
If not, you’ll still leave with clarity and confidence about your collection.

Most consultations take about 45–60 minutes, depending on the size and complexity of the collection. The focus is on clarity, not the clock.
