Today’s Find: 1987 Fleer Michael Jordan. 2nd Year Card

This is Today’s Find. Visit this post everyday and be the first to know what just walked in the door at Kenmore Collectibles.

Is there any other player in basketball that creates as much excitement in the hobby as Michael Jordan?  He retired from the sport sixteen years ago but he left indelible impression on the hobby.   It has to be more than his six Championship rings and 5x MVP Awards.  Kobe, LeBron they have the awards, the talent but their cards don’t get fans nearly as excited. In August 2016, a 1986 Fleer #57 Michael Jordan Rookie PSA Gem MINT 10 sold for over $29,000.00.  That’s all well and good Pete, but the card you are showcasing is his 2nd year card. Is that desirable, you ask? Excellent question. Last year we sold a 1987 Fleer #59 Michael Jordan PSA Gem MINT 10 for $1800.00.

The card we just picked up came from Ron W, a long time collector (over 27 years). He collected Jordan’s cards long ago. Found almost all of them in packs.  Probably a few from me, Ron and I go way back.

This card has three very sharp corners, one corner has a touch of wear. The card has great color and sharp focus. Notice that this card is slightly off-center, perhaps 65-35.  A NM specimen according to Beckett books for $120.00.  With a touch of corner wear and an image off-center, we are offering this card for $85.00.
