Kenmore Collectibles
Vol. 2, No. 9
Week of March 8th, 2010
Dear Collector,

Upper Deck Baseball is finally kaput.  They cancelled Goudey, SP and SPx products.  And the one shining thing that made them different, the contract with USA Baseball, sorry, no more.  Topps now has the rights to USA Baseball.  If you want to collect major league baseball and were unsure what to buy, it just got easier.  Topps is the only game in town. Let's hope Topps doesn't become greedy by overproducing and watering down their product like they did in the early '90's.

This week Kevin Q.  found  this in his box of a 2009 Topps Triple Threads Football. , a #1/1 White Whale Printing Plate Triple Signature.  Way to go Kevin!  Boxes are $212.00.

MILLION CARD GIVEAWAY

2010 Topps Cards are becoming harder to  find as of late because of the Topps Million Card Giveaway.  With odds of one in every six packs, collectors are scooping up these packs just for the contest cards.  Each card has a code that collectors can type in at www.toppsmillion.com.  Topps is giving away at least one of every regular card they have produced since 1951.  Once in your posession, you will be able to trade with other people the cards you might actually want. At some point, you can request to have your cards shipped to you (not sure what the shipping charges will be). Every time you enter a code, you will be entered into a drawing to win a complete 1952 Topps Set.  Kudos to Topps for coming up with this idea.

Happy Collecting,

Mike, Peter and Dodger

A SILVER OPPORTUNITY
1940 Play Ball Williams
Let's talk silver.
Now might be a good time to think about silver. Last year the spot price for an ounce of silver was as low as $10.50 and as high as  $19.18.  This year, Jeffrey Christian of the CPN Group predicts that silver will reach $22.00.  If you look at this historical 2010 chart below, silver started high, drifted lower and is now on the rise again.

Silver today is at $17.31.

Currently we are paying $18.00 for a One Ounce American Silver Eagle.
