Today’s Find: Saint-Gaudens $20.00 Double Eagle Gold Coin

Visit this post everyday and be the first to know what just walked in the door at Kenmore Collectibles.

Commissioned by President Theodore Roosevelt and Designed by renowned American Sculptor, Augustus Saint-Gaudens,, this medallion was first created in ultra high relief. It took 11 strikes to bring up the details of this coin. Found to be unstackable, the coin was redesigned two more times, the highly sought after High Relief (struck 3 times instead of the original 11) and the normal relief version, $20.00 Saint-Gaudens, minted from 1907 – 1933.

The coin we purchased is the normal relief version. Uncirculated and blemish-free.
