I consigned a rather large sports card accumulation with the folks at Kenmore and had a really fine
experience. They were able to sell at market prices everything from pre-war cards to recent Hall Of Famers,
sets, singles, graded and ungraded, the works. They did this with below normal [in my experience] consignment rates, way above
average communication skills and absolute, stone cold honesty and integrity. They have handled my sports
collectibles, stamps and precious metals with the same result every single time. Sale at market prices in a rapid time frame
with timely remittance to me. Anyone in my shoes could not pick a better, more professional and honest consigner. They get
A-Plus rating from me. They are simply the best at what they do, period. | Great shop, reasonable pricing, friendly service, highly reputable 08/24/2007 Posted by timdog99 I've never had a bad experience at this shop. Mike and Peter are always helpful and have the newest cards as well
as soom older ones for those that like vintage stuff. I highly recommend it to anyone who is in the hobby or just looking
to get back in. You can go in and ask questions and aren't made to feel bad if you don't buy anything. Pros:
Prices, selection, service 08/12/2007 Posted by ljraymond This is a great store. Very knowledgeable people. I stopped collecting, wanted to get back into the game and they were
very helpful in suggesting product. The products they suggested were not the most expensive. They asked questions and are
willing to go out of there way to help or get product they don't have (which isn't much). There prices are decent,
NOT expensive. Overall one of the best card shops I have been to. Say hello to Dodger while your there!!!! Pros:
Very helpful, Looks out for the customer, not just himself Cons: Parking 10/12/2006 Posted by cnc13sm I work in the downtown district and a pay a visit to the tea party once a week and sometimes 2 a week. For me its hard
to go to card shows with my schedule, so when I found out about the tea party on Bromfield St I was quite happy I could keep
collecting without using Ebay and worring about other shows. The guys there are very friendly and always give good advice
plus you get to pat the dog for good luck before buying. I've been going here alot and I read a previous post and I would
have to disagree with his opinion toward guys in suits and what they do when they rip open a box. Most customers are either
tourists or people that work downtown. They are dressed in suits for a reason, maybe we should of changed our clothes before
going there. What people do with there cards are their business. If they decide not to take the commons the tea party is willing
to take them for set making it improves their inventory. If you present them with good business and in good character they
will give a little back once in a while. These guys are highly recommended not only for what they have for the present but
they have nice vintage as well. Alot of rear items that will make you remember things. Pros: Good Location Cons: Wish it was across the street from work 09/27/2006 Posted by dani0100 I work in the downtown area where JJ Teaparty is located and am very happy I'm able to pay them a visit once in
a while to check out the latest sports cards, pick up some bargains, and be around one of the very last honest to goodness,
good quality sports card shops in the country. Their prices on unopened material is very fair -- a few times I have found
they've been within a few bucks of very large, discount online retailers. That's a pretty tought act to beat. I also
like them because they have the occasional unopened wax box from the 80s or 90s, which is my favorite thing to see at hobby
shops. Their supplies are very reasonably priced, and I know I can get whatever I need there at a price that's very fair.
I'm not much of a singles buyer, but they certainly have a good collection of recent, and especially vintage stuff at
what look like good prices (you will always do better on eBay, if that's your style, but sometimes you need instant gratification).
The owners are friendly and well informed, and I consider it a wonderful thing that they're still around in a day and
age when card shops are fewer and further between than any other time. These guys are the closest thing I've come to the
card shop experience I remember from when I was a kid. I hope they stay around for a long, long time. 09/27/2006 Posted by unfamiliar Mike & Pete run a great shop. As I began getting back into the hobby, they were both extremely helpful to me and
got me caught up with all the new changes that have taken over the card collecting hobby since I was a teenager. There would
be times when my cousin and I would spend countless hours in there just talking to the guys whether it would be about baseball
or current events. They are both extremely knowledgeable and courteous to any of the customers that enter their shop. While
you may find somewhat cheaper prices online for wax boxes, which is what I primarily buy, you can rest assure that they do
not rifle through any of the packs or boxes and take out the highly coveted short prints or cut signatures. They give you
a legitimate chance to catch one on your own, which is what I did on numerous occasions. I can't say that I've had
the same luck online. On some occasions, they have even offered to "buy back" the pack or box for a price if you
didn't get a good card. Their selection is excellent...always trying to have the newest and most popular products that
are on the market. They also offer a nice selection of singles and supplies for your collecting needs. Even if you aren't
into actual card collecting, they offer a great deal of memorabilia such as autographed baseballs and jerseys to old magazines
and programs. The only thing tough for me is the location. Bromfield Street doesn't offer any parking of any kind so you
really need to depend on public transportation unless you want to pay $12-20 for parking at one of the local garages or lots.
But if you are shopping downtown or don't mind taking the T, this is the place to go for all your sports collection needs.
Brian P.S. (Sorry Kevin and I haven't been in at all recently...been a little short on money as of late, but we will be
back!) 09/27/2006 Posted by the_mortons Well first I`d like to say what nonsense a fellow reviewer has said. Mike and Peter must be one of the best double
acts in Boston for warm and friendly service. I should know as I come over from Scotland every year with my wife and 8 year
old son.The first thing we do is visit Mike and Peter in the shop. They even stay open for us if our flight is a bit late.
I don`t normally see suits in the shop it is usually normal everyday people. From guys like myself and son to guys in wheelchairs
and many others.Everyone is treated the same and I should be able to tell as I hardly move out of the shop in 2 weeks. The
card selection is great and they will get anything in you request. I like signed items and you get great deals on Ball`s etc.
I`m Scottish so we are quite tight with money and I always find it easy to get a good deal. I just do baseball stuff but there
is lots of basketball , football , hockey things there too. Lets not forget Dodger the dog as well. Its worth going in to
see him. I was last at the shop in August 06 and I will going back in Feb 07 for sure. I feel its apart of my trip to go in
and I`ve been going there for the last 12years. I`ve been to all the rest of the card shops from downtown to fenway and I
can honestly say I only shop at Mike and Peters shop . For me the service speaks for itself. looking forward to seeing you
guys and dodger in Feb. The Mortons Pros: Service, great range, good deals Cons:
It`s not based in Scotland and I have to fly 1000`s of miles to get to it.
