I wanted to sell some gold and lucked out finding this place online.  The man who assessed my pieces was honest -- suggesting I hold onto an antique watch band.  I've been there twice now and both times was pleasantly shocked by how much money I received for jewelry I no longer wore.  I have been telling friends, family and co-workers about how great this place is.

This is a baseball card, sports memorabilia, and rare coins and money shop right in Kenmore Square.

The guys who work there are really helpful and knowledgeable. I went in looking for a simple item (a display case for a baseball card) and just wondered if they had a card for a pretty unknown Red Sox first basemen from 1947. The guy didn't have one (of course. I don't know if anybody does), but he went through the trouble to look the player up in a reference book and let me know how many cards were ever issued for the guy, when, and by what company.

The other person working seemed equally as helpful. A really nice atmosphere and some pretty awesome stuff for the diehard sports fan.

They buy cards, memorabilia, and rare coins and paper money, and they also buy silver and gold (to melt down) at good prices. They post their prices daily on the website.

I sold some old coins here. They were fair in the sale and gave me just a little less that what I think I would have gotten for them on eBay. I was okay with that since selling on eBay is such a hassle. The staff member who I sold my coins to was friendly and professional and did not have that unpleasant air of "eww, here comes another person trying to sell something"  that I've experienced at other stores offering to buy items. I would definitely recommend this store if you're looking to sell some coins.

After reading the positive reviews about Kenmore Collectibles on Yelp, I called Peter to discuss selling my 1950s baseball card collection.  Throughout our discussions, Peter has been consistently knowledgeable, honest, thoughtful, and fair.  I discussed what I wanted to get out of the transaction with him, and he suggested the best course of action for me to maximize the value of my cards.  I ended up selling some of my cards directly to him, and I am in the process of having the others graded by PSA to sell through Kenmore Collectibles on consignment.  Kenmore Collectibles is a top-notch small business.

My boyfriend and I went here to sell some gold and silver, as well as some of his football cards. The gentlemen who worked there were very kind and I trusted their knowledge. The price the gave us for the silver and gold was very good.

As for the football cards, the gentleman told my boyfriend that he would probably get better money for them in a different market (the cards were Miami Dolphins players). I really respected that they were honest with us.

It is a cute, clean little shop and by going here you can feel good about supporting a local business.

This cozy shop is near BU and Fenway Park and if you are looking to buy or sell coins, trading cards, or other memorabilia I wouldn't go anywhere else. The owners are very welcoming and willing to spend as much time with you as you need. I worked with Mike to price a small coin collection, and he was very patient and fair in his evaluation; he's someone I really trusted to handle the transaction.

Be sure to bring a treat for Dodger the Dog!

I highly recommend Kenmore Collectibles if you are looking to sell items. One phone call to their store will validate all the good reviews that they have received.
I was recently looking to sell gold and silver coins. I called a few places and visited two stores. The first one I visited was a bad experience. The store and the owner was very disorganized and was definitely rushing me through the process. I had never sold coins before, so I wanted to feel comfortable with whom I was working with.....you should too...
I called Kenmore Collectibles twice. Each time on the phone, Kenmore Collectibles were informative and took the time to listen to my questions and answer them thoroughly.
When I went into the store, they once again were personable, patient and informative. If I am ever in the market to sell coins again (or sports cards, memorabilia) I would not hesitate to go back there. Highly Recommended.....

I consigned a rather large sports card accumulation with the folks at Kenmore and had a really fine experience. They were able to sell at market prices everything from pre-war cards to recent Hall Of Famers, sets, singles, graded and ungraded, the works. They did this with below normal [in my experience] consignment rates, way above average communication skills and absolute, stone cold honesty and integrity. They have handled my sports collectibles, stamps and precious metals with the same result every single time. Sale at market prices in a rapid time frame with timely remittance to me. Anyone in my shoes could not pick a better, more professional and honest consigner. They get A-Plus rating from me. They are simply the best at what they do, period.

Great shop, reasonable pricing, friendly service, highly reputable

I've never had a bad experience at this shop. Mike and Peter are always helpful and have the newest cards as well as soom older ones for those that like vintage stuff. I highly recommend it to anyone who is in the hobby or just looking to get back in. You can go in and ask questions and aren't made to feel bad if you don't buy anything.

Pros: Prices, selection, service

This is a great store. Very knowledgeable people. I stopped collecting, wanted to get back into the game and they were very helpful in suggesting product. The products they suggested were not the most expensive. They asked questions and are willing to go out of there way to help or get product they don't have (which isn't much). There prices are decent, NOT expensive. Overall one of the best card shops I have been to. Say hello to Dodger while your there!!!!

Pros: Very helpful, Looks out for the customer, not just himself

Cons: Parking

I work in the downtown district and a pay a visit to the tea party once a week and sometimes 2 a week. For me its hard to go to card shows with my schedule, so when I found out about the tea party on Bromfield St I was quite happy I could keep collecting without using Ebay and worring about other shows. The guys there are very friendly and always give good advice plus you get to pat the dog for good luck before buying. I've been going here alot and I read a previous post and I would have to disagree with his opinion toward guys in suits and what they do when they rip open a box. Most customers are either tourists or people that work downtown. They are dressed in suits for a reason, maybe we should of changed our clothes before going there. What people do with there cards are their business. If they decide not to take the commons the tea party is willing to take them for set making it improves their inventory. If you present them with good business and in good character they will give a little back once in a while. These guys are highly recommended not only for what they have for the present but they have nice vintage as well. Alot of rear items that will make you remember things.

Pros: Good Location

Cons: Wish it was across the street from work

I work in the downtown area where JJ Teaparty is located and am very happy I'm able to pay them a visit once in a while to check out the latest sports cards, pick up some bargains, and be around one of the very last honest to goodness, good quality sports card shops in the country. Their prices on unopened material is very fair -- a few times I have found they've been within a few bucks of very large, discount online retailers. That's a pretty tought act to beat. I also like them because they have the occasional unopened wax box from the 80s or 90s, which is my favorite thing to see at hobby shops. Their supplies are very reasonably priced, and I know I can get whatever I need there at a price that's very fair. I'm not much of a singles buyer, but they certainly have a good collection of recent, and especially vintage stuff at what look like good prices (you will always do better on eBay, if that's your style, but sometimes you need instant gratification). The owners are friendly and well informed, and I consider it a wonderful thing that they're still around in a day and age when card shops are fewer and further between than any other time. These guys are the closest thing I've come to the card shop experience I remember from when I was a kid. I hope they stay around for a long, long time.

Mike & Pete run a great shop. As I began getting back into the hobby, they were both extremely helpful to me and got me caught up with all the new changes that have taken over the card collecting hobby since I was a teenager. There would be times when my cousin and I would spend countless hours in there just talking to the guys whether it would be about baseball or current events. They are both extremely knowledgeable and courteous to any of the customers that enter their shop. While you may find somewhat cheaper prices online for wax boxes, which is what I primarily buy, you can rest assure that they do not rifle through any of the packs or boxes and take out the highly coveted short prints or cut signatures. They give you a legitimate chance to catch one on your own, which is what I did on numerous occasions. I can't say that I've had the same luck online. On some occasions, they have even offered to "buy back" the pack or box for a price if you didn't get a good card. Their selection is excellent...always trying to have the newest and most popular products that are on the market. They also offer a nice selection of singles and supplies for your collecting needs. Even if you aren't into actual card collecting, they offer a great deal of memorabilia such as autographed baseballs and jerseys to old magazines and programs. The only thing tough for me is the location. Bromfield Street doesn't offer any parking of any kind so you really need to depend on public transportation unless you want to pay $12-20 for parking at one of the local garages or lots. But if you are shopping downtown or don't mind taking the T, this is the place to go for all your sports collection needs. Brian P.S. (Sorry Kevin and I haven't been in at all recently...been a little short on money as of late, but we will be back!)

Well first I`d like to say what nonsense a fellow reviewer has said. Mike and Peter must be one of the best double acts in Boston for warm and friendly service. I should know as I come over from Scotland every year with my wife and 8 year old son.The first thing we do is visit Mike and Peter in the shop. They even stay open for us if our flight is a bit late. I don`t normally see suits in the shop it is usually normal everyday people. From guys like myself and son to guys in wheelchairs and many others.Everyone is treated the same and I should be able to tell as I hardly move out of the shop in 2 weeks. The card selection is great and they will get anything in you request. I like signed items and you get great deals on Ball`s etc. I`m Scottish so we are quite tight with money and I always find it easy to get a good deal. I just do baseball stuff but there is lots of basketball , football , hockey things there too. Lets not forget Dodger the dog as well. Its worth going in to see him. I was last at the shop in August 06 and I will going back in Feb 07 for sure. I feel its apart of my trip to go in and I`ve been going there for the last 12years. I`ve been to all the rest of the card shops from downtown to fenway and I can honestly say I only shop at Mike and Peters shop . For me the service speaks for itself. looking forward to seeing you guys and dodger in Feb. The Mortons

Pros: Service, great range, good deals

Cons: It`s not based in Scotland and I have to fly 1000`s of miles to get to it.
