As a Junior, Roger Staubach won the Heisman Trophy and led Navy to a 9-1 Record beating Notre Dame.  In 1964, he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the 10th Round. Apparently nobody wanted to take a chance on a player who made a military commitment to fight in Vietnam.  It was not until 1969 at age 27 that Staubach made it back to play in the Pros. He went on to win  two Super Bowl Rings (VI and XII) and pass for over 22,000 Yards.  In 1999, he was ranked number 29 on The Sporting News list of the 100 Greatest Football Players. (Wiki).
